Young Suicide in Ireland
I spoke in the Seanad this morning about how high incidences of suicide among young people are a huge problem. I want us as legislators, together with schools and communities to look at ways to protect children from bullying through programs that support them at home and in school life. Suicide is a serious issue that we need to talk about. I spoke today on how 18-year old Eden Heaslip took his life after being viciously bullied - both physically and emotionally by peers at school. It's up to us as legislators to do what we can so other children don't have go through what he went through.
