Firstly I asked for the Minister of Finance to come in to the Seanad to talk to us about the future of banking in Ireland. Secondly, the increase in crypto currency and its potential to improve international trade and for it to be used as payment in the international community cannot be overlooked. Ireland should push ahead and not wait for the ECB response to crypto currency. Other European countries are not sitting on their hands when it comes to laying groundwork for early adoption. The US have issued guidelines on the regulations already and we must ensure that Ireland is not left behind and be ready for the big global financial shift.
