Today I discussed climate action on the low carbon development act bill. I highlighted that if it’s climate change that we are concerned with then our measures to combat such must be confined to our borders. I asked the minister to examine the role that nuclear energy could play in reaching a 0 emissions economy. France’s move to nuclear power and have saw a massive reduce in fossil fuels. If we are demolishing perfectly functioning power plants in order to reach these targets we need a firm source of power generation to replace them. In my opinion a clean environment promotes and maintain the health of well-being of communities and individuals. We need to protect our environment for economic growth.
