I'm delighted to see this bill today being put forward. There are a number of terms used to replace the term child pornography. I have spoken in this house many times about safeguarding children and women in this country. Senator Flynn has spotted that our law is not up to date and we should focus on acting on it now. There may be a bit of required from government departments particularly the department of justice to get their online articles up to date to ensure continuity across the board. I'd like to see more talk about online grooming of children and exposure to online pornography by adults and children and role that pornography plays in gender based violence.
